Argyll Field Archers

Welcome to the club website. Argyll Field Archers (AFA) is a new field archery club with shooting grounds in the Inverawe Forest 3 miles east of Taynuilt, Argyll. The club is affiliated to the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS) and the Scottish Archery Association (SAA). The project is a joint venture with Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) from whom we lease the ground. The FCS have committed to a substantial input including manpower, improved parking, all abilities access to the practice area etc.

We are in a development stage and have successfully received a grant from Argyll and Bute Council for sports development. Our aim is to make field archery available to as many as possible in the area and for those from further afield as well.

We now have one of the two 12 target courses completed and it is proving to be both challenging and great fun to shoot. Our club membership is steadily growing and we have recently formed a junior club open to 10-17 year olds.

A recent grant from Taynuilt Community Council has enabled us to develop a practice area  recently which will be particularly useful to coach juniors and novice adults. The practice area will also be accessible to the less able bodied.
